What to expect at your photo shoot.

There are few requirements of the model for the photo shoot.  The following are regarded as very important to ensure the shoot produces some great images for your portfolio.

1)  HAVE FUN!!!!

2)   Be on time.  Shoots start at 12:00 noon sharp, unless other arrangements are discussed.  Yes, it is ok to show up a few minutes early!  =)  I always ask the model to call me as they leave to meet up for the shoot, that way I know we are on schedule and I can prepare accordingly.  I rarely reschedule shoots regardless of the reason.

3)  Although some outfits may be provided at the shoot please bring your own attire.  Anything you look good in will work so long as it is within the style of the shoot we have arranged.  The more outfits the better - even if we do not use them all.  Photosage.com features art nude, exotic bikini, lingerie, and maxim style clothing (high heels, hot pants, daisy dukes, mini skirts, etc...).   Tasteful implied nude or full art nude shots require the model to be at least (18+).  Be sure to bring make-up to touch up when necessary and/or to change appearance.  Baby oil or tanning oil also is highly recommended.

4)  Set aside the DAY for the shoot.  This allows for travel time to various shoot locations, changes in clothing & appearance, and anything else that may unexpectedly come up during a shoot.  While the shoot may not take all day, this is done to ensure the shoot is a success and a rescheduled shoot is not necessary.  Take this into serious consideration when booking the day to shoot.

5)  For confidence and versatility, practice posing in front of the mirror.  Play with various attitudes/looks and poses.  For beginning models I find that practicing holding the shoulders back and chin up is a good start.  While you don't want to look like you are too stiff, you do want to express and exude an uplifting energy while posing.  "Tightening" up abs and legs make the model look for graceful in the shots.  Feel free to experiment here.

6)  You can bring a friend and/or guardian to drop you off and have a chance to meet with myself and any assistants I may be using that day but during the shoot it should be just the model(s) and photographer present at the shoot.  I am a professional photographer and this is a professional shoot and I expect a professional attitude by the model towards our work together.  It is like any other job, I am sure you wouldn't bring a friend, boyfriend, or parent to your first day at work at McDonald's, so don't expect to do so during the shoot.  Please approach the shoot seriously, and professionally (and have fun!).  I find that models tend to be more relaxed and can concentrate better and are more so "in the moment", which produces better work flow.

7)  Model Release forms can be previewed prior to shoot here: Minor Release Form taken from OMP.  These very forms have been used with 1000's of models of all experience levels.

As a photographer I have specialized in working with new models. In doing so I feel it is most important to help you (the model) feel at ease with your first shoot.  Rule #1 is to have FUN at your shoot!
